Sheridan Construction joined Kennebec Valley Humane Society (K.V.H.S.) and its supporters to celebrate their groundbreaking ceremony at their future home, 168 Leighton Road in Augusta, Maine, on August 2, 2022. The new 19,200 square foot facility will be named after Nancy Shuman, the beloved wife of Charles Shuman, locally known for the family-run Charlie’s Motor Mall business and major donor to KVHS for many decades.
On hand were KVHS members spearheaded by Executive Director, Hilary Roberts, KVHS board members, the Shuman family, Peter Bethanis Architect, Sheridan Construction, countless donors, community-members, and a puppy named “Sea Glass” who was looking for her forever home.
Dan Wildes, Sheridan President shared, “Our entire team is excited for the opportunity to construct KVHS’s Nancy Shuman Shelter. We are honored to be a part of Nancy Shuman’s legacy. We’ve assembled an amazing team fully prepared to tackle this vital project for the entire Kennebec Valley community. Construction is scheduled to commence after Labor Day.”
The anticipated completion date is August 2023. For more information, including supporting the KHVS with their mission, go to KVHS’s website at www.pethavenlane.org or to WABI’s website.
