General Contractor: The Sheridan Corporation

Steel Fabrication:All Star Bleachers

On March 30th an arsonist fire destroyed the grandstands and Constitution Hall at the Skowhegan State Fairgrounds. With the help of All Star Bleachers of Lakeland, Florida: Sheridan was able to replace the Grandstands, Pari-mutuel building, rest rooms and Constitution Hall in time for the 1999 fair season starting the first week of August.

The new galvanized steel grandstand seats 4,000 people, nearly double that of the old stands. Below the stands are two new public rest room facilities and a sixteen station pari-mutuel and office building. The new Constitution Hall is 10,800 square feet of exhibit space which is a 3,300 square foot upgrade of the original building.

The Skowhegan State Fair saw its 181st consecutive season in 1999. Not only is it the oldest of the state fairs, but Skowhegan State Fair predates the founding of the State of Maine by 2 years.
