This 50,000 square foot state prison was built in 1990 for the State of Maine. The "Supermax", as it is commonly known, is a high-tech complex multistory facility constructed primarily of cast-in-place concrete and heavy structural steel. This facility had a cost of approximately $11 million and was completed ahead of schedule.
