This sports facility was built along the third base line of Mahaney Field on the University of Maine at Orono campus in 1989. Built primarily through the largesse of long time Black Bear friend and supporter Larry Mahaney, this clubhouse also received extensive financial donations from friends, alumni and the participating contractors. Built during the tenure of president Dale W. Lick and coach John Winkin, this clubhouse is the product of extensive planning and cooperation between numerous university departments and Sheridan's design team. The lower floor contains locker rooms and showers for the Maine Black Bears baseball team and coaching staff as well as equipment storage and a first aid station. The upper floor is a multi-function meeting room and baseball coaching offices that overlook the playing field. There is also an open air observation deck facing the ball field.
