The Sheridan Corporation is pleased to have been selected to participate with the expansion of the Corning facility in Kennebunk, Maine. Corning Incorporated is a Fortune 500 company employing 20,000 people in 41 plants and some 37 sales and service offices in 22 countries worldwide. Corning, a technology leader, developed the original glass envelope for Thomas Edison's electric light bulb, and is today known for inventing the first optical fiber capable of transmitting information over long distances.
The addition to the Kennebunk plant is 75,000 square feet with 15,000 square feet of mezzanine space. There are over 400 lineal feet of access trenching and two high capacity bridge cranes. The new facility will produce advanced materials for scientific, environmental and life science markets, including specialized polymer products for biotechnology applications.
