Sheridan's Philosophy is
based on the premise that quality cannot be achieved without safety.
We realize that Sheridan employees deserve a work
environment that is free from injuries. Therefore, Sheridan managers have
dedicated themselves to providing an injury free workplace for all employees
and subcontractors. |
|
Each manager, as a top priority, has taken responsibility
for eliminating or managing all workplace hazards. Employees receive
comprehensive training prior to actual job placement. This training includes a
review of the Sheridan Corporations Occupational Safety and Health Program, our
corporate drug and alcohol program, as well as our corporate safety goals.
Qualified in house instructors provide regular training
seminars and certifications in such areas as CPR, First Aid, Fork Truck Safety,
Lock Out Tag Out, Powder Actuated Tool Safety, Fall Protection Training,
Hazardous Communication and Fire Prevention and Protection. |
|
Prior to the start of any job, a site specific project
safety plan is developed. This includes a job hazard analysis to address
specific safety challenges and include a plan on how to deal with those
challenges, utilizing the hierarchy of controls. |
|
|
Jobsite safety meetings are conducted at least weekly to
reinforce safety training, address any concerns and share valuable safety ideas
that originate from our workers. We have found that this team approach to
safety has greatly contributed to our safety success.
Field safety audits are performed by the Sheridan
Corporation safety professionals and project managers on a frequent basis.
These audits are the basis for documentation that receive a full Sheridan
managerial distribution and are often topics at safety meetings. All Sheridan
projects are staffed with Emergency Medical Technicians or CPR and First Aid
trained and certified employees. |
|
The Sheridan Corporation believes that our employees are our
most valuable asset. We will strive for continuous improvement through safety
training, skills training and personal accountability for all employees. This
formula has guided us for the past fifty years and we look for it to guide us,
as we "build for the future". |
